由中关村协同创新直投基金投资的极芯通讯近日宣布,推出全球第一颗支持O-RAN标准的5G基站数字前端芯片—梅里UC1040。

梅里(UC1040)是5G基站数字前端(DFE)芯片。该芯片采用ASIP(专用指令集处理器)技术构建,支持5G物理层(Low-PHY)功能,能够适应5G多应用场景下的定制化需求。
UC1040芯片采用可编程处理机,线速率处理前传接口的CPRI/eCPRI协议数据,兼容O-RAN联盟的前传接口规范,同时支持OTIC的相关标准,支持Option8和Option7-x的RAN功能划分接口. 基于UC1040,设备商可构建灵活、低成本的云化5G基础设施。
UC1040芯片集成四个收发通道,支持4G、5G双模配置,可配置成四通道100MHz或两通道200MHz带宽的5G NR 基站射频单元,也可配置成两通道5G和两通道4G的双模基站射频单元。UC1040芯片集成了可灵活配置的载波聚合、成型滤波、上下变频、快速傅里叶变换、和增益控制等数字中频和基带功能。
芯片包含波峰因子消除(CFR)和可编程数字预失真(DPD)能力,大幅提高功率放大器性能。芯片集成8路JESD204B/C接口,可以适应业界常见的射频收发(Transceiver)器件。同时支持IEEE1588和SyncE定时功能。
UC1040作为全球5G小型基站部署道路上的一个重要里程碑,构建了一个开放的市场,满足运营商对NR和LTE的所有需求。 同时,UC1040已经被大多数小型/微型基站设备制造商所认可和采用。

Ultichip launches Meri UC1040, the world's first DFE chip for 5G base station supporting ORAN.
Meri UC1040 is a digital front end (DFE) chip for 5G base station systems. The essential technology of the chip is based on ASIP (Application Specific Instruction-set Processor). UC1040 supports 5G IF (Intermediate frequency) and low-physical layer baseband (low PHY BB) functions. UC1040 supports all scenarios required by 5G, LTE, and mmWave small/micro base stations.
 
Dedicated programmable protocol processors in UC1040 handle all fronthaul protocols including CPRI / eCPRI / Ethernet with real-time line-speed performance. It can support ORAN fronthaul specifications, OTIC standard, and RAN function partition of option 8 and option 7-x between RRU (remote radio unit) and BU (baseband unit). UC1040 can also be used to build flexible and low-cost cloud 5G and 5G mobile edge computing infrastructures.
 
Up to four transceiver channels are integrated in UC1040, and each channel supports all IF and Low-PHY functions for 5G and 4G dual-mode configurations. UC1040 can thus be configured for 5G base station RRU with four channels of 100MHz bandwidth or two channels of 200MHz bandwidth. UC1040 can also supports two 5G channels plus two 4G channels dual-mode base stations. UC1040 supports flexible functions including carrier aggregation, shaping filtering, up and down IF-BB conversion, FFT, and gain controls. 
 
UC1040 includes crest factor reduction (CFR) and programmable digital predistortion (DPD) to significantly improve RF (radio frequency) power amplifier performance. Integrated with 8-way JESD204B/C interface, UC1040 can adapt to most RF transceivers. UC1040 supports IEEE1588 precision clock synchronization Protocol and SyncE between RRU and BBU.
 
As a big milestone on the road of deploying global 5G small base stations, UC1040 builds an open market, fulfills all operator requirements for NR and LTE. At the same time, UC1040 has been recognized and adopted by most small/micro base station equipment manufacturers.
